Recycling

At Spectrum Dermatology, our commitment extends beyond the health of your skin to the health of our planet. Being in Seattle, we are privileged to be surrounded by remarkable natural beauty, and it is our responsibility to actively participate in its preservation.

While reducing waste and minimizing our environmental impact can present challenges for any business, we firmly believe that even small, consistent efforts contribute to significant positive change over time. We are dedicated to incorporating sustainable practices into our daily operations.

Here are some of the tangible steps we have taken:

At our clinic, we have partnered with TerraCycle to provide a convenient and effective solution for recycling empty skincare containers. We recognize the volume of product containers our patients use, and through this initiative, we have already recycled 873 lbs. of used skincare and makeup packaging over the past two years. We encourage you to bring your empty, clean skincare product containers to our office for recycling. You can find more detailed information below.

Furthermore, we diligently utilize our city's recycling and composting programs as well as other services for all appropriate waste generated within our clinic.

For our online store operations, we reuse paper packaging received from our vendors for shipping our inventory and clinic supplies. We also prioritize using recycled paper for our own packaging materials and employ compostable packing tape. Additionally, we recycle all plastic that accompanies our skincare product deliveries. We actively encourage our vendors to adopt more environmentally conscious shipping practices as well. These incremental changes represent our ongoing commitment to minimizing our ecological footprint.

And now, to further our sustainability efforts, we have implemented paperless billing.

To enhance your experience and reduce paper consumption, our practice has transitioned to electronic billing. Statements will now be securely sent to you via email and accessible through your Patient Portal. This offers several advantages:

  • You can conveniently check your balance and pay online at your convenience.
  • Please ensure we have your correct email address on file to receive your statements promptly.
  • You can easily access your billing history through the Patient Portal.
  • Should you require a paper statement for your records, please do not hesitate to let us know, and we will gladly provide one.

You can learn more about payment methods at https://www.spectrumdermatologyseattle.com/billing-inquiries/.

These initiatives are integral to our broader commitment to both your well-being and the health of our shared environment.
